Adult Dance

Our adult dance classes are designed for individuals of all experience levels who are looking to explore movement, build confidence, and enjoy the physical and mental benefits of dance. Whether you're returning to dance or trying it for the first time, our classes offer a creative and energetic outlet to express yourself and stay active.

Adult classes run in 8-week sessions for $85 from fall through spring. We also offer a $15 drop-in fee. If you register for more than one class per session, each additional class is $75. The following classes are available throughout the year, but not all may be offered during the same session. Feel free to check in for the most up-to-date schedule!

  • Adult Beginner Tap

    Beginner

    Adult beginner tap classes are all about learning the basics of tap dance in a fun and supportive environment. They typically start with warm-ups to isolate foot movements, followed by rhythm and step-based exercises. Students also practice across-the-floor movements. They put together their new skills with short choreography each week. Tap dancing is not only a great workout but also helps improve balance, coordination, and brain activity.

    Intermediate:

    Intermediate adult tap classes are designed for dancers who are familiar with basic tap steps and rhythms and are ready to advance their skills. These classes often focus on:
    – Complex Patterns and Steps: Building on foundational techniques to introduce more intricate combinations and rhythms.
    – Variety of Styles: Exploring different tap styles, such as Broadway, rhythm, and contemporary tap.
    – Musicality: Enhancing the ability to develop a deeper connection to music.

Ballet

  • Adult Ballet
    This class offers a graceful introduction to classical ballet for adults of all levels. Focusing on posture, flexibility, and strength, students will learn fundamental ballet technique through barre work, center exercises, and simple combinations across the floor. With an emphasis on musicality, balance, and controlled movement, this class is perfect for those looking to explore ballet in a supportive and structured environment. No prior dance experience is required.

Jazz

    Our adult jazz class provides an energetic environment for adult dancers of all skill levels. Whether beginners looking to build foundational technique or more experienced dancers refining their artistry, this class focus on flexibility, coordination, and musicality. Sessions include warm-ups, across-the-floor progressions, and engaging choreography that blends classic jazz styles with contemporary influences.

    Classes emphasize rhythm, dynamic movements, and performance quality, helping dancers build confidence and improve their physical fitness. With experienced instructors guiding the way, dancers develop strength, precision, and personal expression in an encouraging atmosphere.

Dance Fitness

    Adult dance fitness combines high-energy dance movements with cardiovascular exercise to improve overall health and well-being. These classes blend fun choreography with music from various genres to boost endurance, coordination, and flexibility. The instructor will demonstrate different intensity levels so everyone can enjoy the class. Pick and choose your level!

    We ask that you wear tennis shoes that have not been worn outside.

Hip Hop

    This energetic and fun-filled class focuses on teaching foundational hip hop dance moves in a supportive, judgment-free environment. It typically begins with a dynamic warm-up to get the body moving and loosened up, followed by across-the-floor exercises or grooves to build rhythm, coordination, and style. The class emphasizes musicality, expression, and performance. Classes are designed for adult dancers of all skill levels, aiming to boost confidence, fitness, and creativity through dance.
